Bideford has previously been voted one of the ten best places in the world to be on New Year’s Eve. Depending on the weather, between 10 and 20 thousand people descend on Bideford Quay for an evening of frivolity. Many people are in fancy dress and it is generally a happy occasion with relatively few troublesome incidents.

 On New Year's Eve this is the place to be 

for the serious reveller! The celebrations start early in the evening until late. Entertainment culminates in fireworks over the river Torridge
